Hi! I am currently an MFA ‘10 candidate at RISD’s (spoken as riz-dee, which stands for Rhode Island School of Design) Digital+Media program in the U.S.A. My endeavor to fuse digital technologies with space made me pursue this program after doing Interior Architecture from CEPT University in India. Many people ask me why I chose to deviate from my profession. I see digital technologies as an extension of any system and its versatility makes it possible to integrate it with any discipline whether it is architecture, interior, graphics, media, landscapes, networks, entertainment, politics, science or social domain. Soon environment from science fiction books like Snow Crash and Neuromancer, and movies like I-robot, Minority Report and Gattaca will be entering the consumer market and exit there development in labs all around the world. How we can interface with the space and elements around us like furniture and interior spaces in which we inhibit could be morphed at our fancy. All the cool multi-touch interfaces that you saw in the new James Bond movie, The Island and on a few Sci-Fi TV shows could be your coffee table in the near future. All this stuff really excites me and I want to sensibly integrate these ideas into my practice to achieve a more holistic spatial experience. Yup, thats it, now you know what keeps me ticking.
